Knowledge Mobilization (KMb): Multiple Contributions & Multi-Production Of New Knowledge

Monthly Archives: September 2012

It’s Time To Unite With The Power Of Knowledge Mobilization (KMb)

Knowledge is not about ruling or conquering anyone. Sharing knowledge for social benefit is about helping one another to live in happiness, not in misery. Knowledge Mobilization (KMb) is about making room for everyone’s knowledge if it can make the world a better place.

The world is rich with a diversity of knowledge through personal experiences, but when greed and hate create knowledge that poisons us all, it can lead to misery and even bloodshed. We have developed an ability to share knowledge faster and more efficiently than any other generation in history with digital devices that can contribute to greater knowledge mobilization for greater social benefit – yet selfish or righteous knowledge can leave us cynical and blind to the greater power of knowledge sharing for social benefit.

Without the deeper significance of kindness – and not simply cleverness – in knowledge, selfish and righteous knowledge can lead to violence and a world that is lost. The Internet has brought us closer together as human beings. The very nature of social media is about sharing knowledge and the ability to create a world of knowledge connections that can lead  us to a greater universal understanding in our common humanity.

In this KMbeing blog, it is my sincere hope that my knowledge sharing and mobilization can reach out and touch many people throughout the world who find despair or embarrassment in their own knowledge or the knowledge of their communities when knowledge does not contribute to greater global understanding.  I have been honored and privileged to connect with blog followers in over 55 countries from around the world – and counting.

Some knowledge can make us victims and imprison us in systems of limited beliefs. Through knowledge mobilization, we can combine our diversity of knowledge and experiences from around the world and create new knowledge for universal benefit that can move us away from misery, despair, the bitterness of humanity, and the selfish or righteous knowledge that can hold us back from making the world a better place for everyone.

The progress of knowledge mobilization is the progress of humanity. Selfish or righteous knowledge can be eliminated and knowledge dictators can pass away if we all become knowledge mobilizers for social benefit. Never let knowledge enslave you, but rather let knowledge free you in the power of knowledge sharing to make the world a better place that can bring about better lives for everyone.

We all have the power of knowledge mobilization when we are open to the knowledge of others and open to sharing our knowledge – whether it be limited or extensive. We all have the power to make this world a better place through knowledge mobilization when it is shared for the beauty of social benefit for everyone.

KMb challenges us not to fight but unite for a better world – a world that values knowledge sharing from all walks of life and is open to listening to united human voices of knowledge for benefit and not harm. Knowledge mobilization can bring about a new and more decent world of human understanding that can give us all a chance to work together through knowledge sharing.

It’s time to unite to free the world with the power of knowledge mobilization, and do away with the barriers of selfish or righteous knowledge, and the greed and hate that creates knowledge that poisons us all. It’s time to unite for a world of new knowledge creation that respects the dignity of all our humanity and its diversity of knowledge. It’s time to unite for a world that combines this diversity of knowledge to create new knowledge to make the world a better place for everyone.  It’s time to unite for a  world where knowledge will lead to the progress of all humanity and the happiness of all humanity – where every person is joined in the power of knowledge mobilization.

Lifelong Knowledge

Knowledge Mobilization (KMb) is about lifelong knowledge sharing by creating new knowledge throughout all stages of life – from early childhood through to the senior years – to improve social benefit for everyone.

Knowledge Discoveries & Horizons

Knowledge Mobilization (KMb) is about sharing knowledge and making new knowledge discoveries for social benefit. As human beings we have a basic need to learn, broaden our knowledge horizons, and seek improvement in our daily lives.  KMb takes us beyond ourselves to make the world a better place for everyone.

Past, Present and Future Knowledge

When we let the tensions between past and present knowledge – ‘traditional’ and ‘modern’ knowledge – cloud our thinking, we fail to see how knowledge develops, flows and changes. The process of knowledge incorporates the past, learns in the present and is always open to changes in the future.

Does Your Knowledge Always Have To Be “Right”?

Do you always feel like your knowledge has to be “right”? Knowledge to make the world a better place is about being open to new knowledge – and possibly changing your own knowledge.

Prioritizing Knowledge

Have you ever thought about how we prioritize knowledge? Far too often we focus on the knowledge of academics or professionals and forget that everyone has knowledge to contribute if such knowledge is used for social benefit to make the world a better place for all of us. How often have we prioritized the more “important” knowledge of academics and professionals and overlooked the contributions that can be made by the knowledge of individual experiences? This is not to say that academic or professional knowledge doesn’t greatly contribute to social benefit – but we can create even wider social benefit when knowledge is combined (from all walks of life) to create new knowledge and perspectives with more understanding.

When we all take the time to strengthen ties of knowledge between rich and poor, professional or non-professional, educated or non-educated, old or young, religious or non-religious, healthy or sick – we can develop greater opportunities to create new knowledge together. It’s this new knowledge creation – especially through Knowledge Mobilization (KMb) – that brings about greater social benefit.

I know from personal experience the difficulty of being the kind of person who will always make time for knowledge that is different from my own – especially in a world of people who put more importance on academic or professional knowledge than on the “trivial” knowledge of lived experiences that all of us can share – no matter who we are, or where we come from.

As we prioritize knowledge and focus more on the knowledge of academics or professionals, we may overlook the valuable knowledge of everyday people. When we prioritize knowledge in this way we become more fragmented as individuals, as cultures – and as human beings.

When we don’t take the time to connect with our fellow human beings, through knowledge sharing, we fail to see the richness and value for social benefit in another person’s knowledge as they share the knowledge of themselves.

Through knowledge sharing we create new knowledge – which can be used for social benefit. This knowledge can reach beyond the isolation of our own communities – no matter where we live – when we decide to prioritize the knowledge of everyone as a community of human beings.

Forget About The Knowledge You’re Lacking

Forget about all of the knowledge you’re lacking – it will always be incomplete. Focus on the knowledge you have, be open to the knowledge of others to improve your own knowledge, and combine knowledge to create new knowledge for social benefit – to make the world a better place.

Taking “Insignificant” Knowledge For Granted

When you look at the knowledge you have in your life, are you thankful for even the most “insignificant” knowledge you take for granted? All knowledge – even “insignificant” knowledge – can have social benefit if it’s used to make the world a better place.

A Feeling Of Knowledge

What would it feel like to know your knowledge combined with the knowledge of others for social benefit can help make the world a better place?

Act As If Your Knowledge Can Change The World

If you act as if your knowledge can change the world and make it a better place – you will make a difference – even if you really don’t think you will. Whenever we share knowledge and are open to the knowledge of others, we can create new knowledge for social benefit.
